Great photos can increase your card sales by 40% or more. Here's how to take professional-quality photos with basic equipment.
You don't need expensive gear to take great card photos:
Smartphone camera (iPhone 12+ or equivalent Android)
Natural light source or LED light box ($30-50)
White or neutral background
Card stand or holder
Natural Light: Photograph near a window during daytime, but avoid direct sunlight which creates harsh shadows. Overcast days provide the best natural lighting.
Artificial Light: Use two LED lights at 45-degree angles to eliminate shadows. Keep lights at the same height as the card.
Fill the frame - card should take up 70-80% of the image
Keep camera parallel to card to avoid distortion
Take multiple angles: front, back, edges, and any flaws
Use macro mode for close-ups of signatures or damage
Remember: honest photos build trust. Always photograph any flaws or damage clearly.
