Description
Takklemaggot, designated as card number 76 in the 2009 Masters Edition III set, represents a strategic enchantment option within the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Created by artist Daniel Gelon, this Uncommon card carries the ME3 set code and functions as a black Aura enchantment. Its mana cost requires two generic mana and two black mana, placing its total mana value at four. Collectors appreciate this card for its clever mechanical design that rewards long-term board presence rather than immediate impact. The gameplay of Takklemaggot revolves around a persistent attrition strategy. Once attached to a creature, it imposes a -0/-1 counter at the start of the enchanted creature’s controller upkeep, gradually weakening the opponent’s assets. However, its true value emerges when the enchanted creature is removed from play. Instead of going to the graveyard, the card triggers a unique rebound effect. The controller must choose a new valid target for the Aura; if they do, Takklemaggot immediately returns to the battlefield attached to the new creature. This allows players to maintain pressure across multiple turns without sacrificing card advantage. If no valid target is chosen, the card still returns to the battlefield but transforms into a standalone enchantment. It loses the ability to enchant creatures and instead deals one damage to the opponent at the beginning of their upkeep. This dual nature makes Takklemaggot a versatile tool in The catalog, appealing to players who enjoy resilient enchantment strategies. Whether building a competitive deck or completing a Masters Edition III collection, this card offers a distinct gameplay experience. Its ability to persist through combat and removal spells makes it a memorable piece of the set’s design. Collectors often seek out this Uncommon rarity to understand the depth of the Masters Edition III expansion, which focuses on reimagining classic mechanics for modern play.

Enchant creature At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature's controller, put a -0/-1 counter on that creature. When enchanted creature dies, that creature's controller chooses a creature that this card could enchant. If the player does, return this card to the battlefield under your control attached to that creature. If they don't, return this card to the battlefield under your control as a non-Aura enchantment. It loses "enchant creature" and gains "At the beginning of that player's upkeep, this enchantment deals 1 damage to that player."
