Description
Magmatic Hellkite, designated as card number 301, stands as a formidable presence within the 2025 Tarkir: Dragonstorm expansion of Magic: The Gathering. As a Rare creature with the Dragon subtype, this card commands attention not just for its flavor, but for the strategic impact it brings to the tabletop. In gameplay, Magmatic Hellkite requires a mana cost of two generic mana and two red mana, reflecting its aggressive nature. With a mana value of four, it offers a potent threat that can be deployed relatively early in a game. The creature possesses a power and toughness of four and five, respectively, making it a durable fighter that can survive most early-game interactions. Its ability to fly ensures it can bypass ground-based blockers, adding another layer of difficulty for opponents trying to remove it from play. The card’s most defining feature is its entry effect, which forces an opponent to sacrifice a nonbasic land they control. This triggers a search for a basic land card, which is then put onto the battlefield tapped with a stun counter. This mechanic effectively disrupts the opponent's resource management, slowing their development while advancing your own board state. For collectors and players alike, this card represents a key piece of the TDM set, offering both aesthetic appeal and mechanical depth. Whether you are building a deck focused on aggressive strategies or simply expanding your collection with iconic dragons, this card remains a significant addition. Its combination of powerful abilities and striking design makes it a standout in the Tarkir: Dragonstorm series, appealing to both competitive players and casual enthusiasts who appreciate the rich lore of the Magic universe.

Flying When this creature enters, destroy target nonbasic land an opponent controls. Its controller searches their library for a basic land card, puts it onto the battlefield tapped with a stun counter on it, then shuffles. (If a permanent with a stun counter would become untapped, remove one from it instead.)
It gulps from the lava flow to spew gouts of molten rock upon its prey.
