Released in 1999 as part of the World Championship Decks series, the Mark Le Pine Bio card (mlp0a) serves as a historic artifact for Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts. This card was distributed alongside Mark Le Pine's actual tournament-legal deck, providing collectors with a tangible link to one of the game's most respected competitive figures. Mark Le Pine, a New Hampshire native, was already a seasoned veteran of the Pro Tour circuit by the time this product was issued. Having debuted on the Pro Tour in Atlanta in 1996, Le Pine quickly established himself as a formidable competitor, reaching the Top 8 of major events in Mainz (1997), Rome (1998), and the World Championship in 1999. The inclusion of his biography card in the World Championship Decks set highlights his status within the competitive community during this pivotal era of Magic's history. The card itself is a common rarity token, designed to provide background information rather than gameplay mechanics. For collectors, the value lies in its context: it represents the personal narrative of a player who mastered aggressive red deck strategies. Le Pine's approach, often referred to as "Sped Red," relied on early pressure with fast creatures before shifting to land destruction and late-game finishers. Owning this card allows fans to trace the lineage of competitive playstyles that defined the late 1990s TCG landscape. By focusing on the identity of the World Championship Decks line, we help collectors appreciate the broader story of Magic's competitive evolution. This card is not just a piece of plastic; it is a chapter in the ongoing history of the game, commemorating a player who pushed the boundaries of strategic deck construction during a golden age of organized play.

Though only 17 years old, New Hampshire—native Mark Le Pine is a Pro Tour veteran. He has been with the Pro Tour since Atlanta '96 and has made the Top 8 three times (Mainz '97, Rome '98, and Worlds '99). Le Pine played an aggressive red deck called "Sped Red." With his deck he applied pressure early with 11 fast creatures, then he'd shift into land-destruction mode with Wasteland, Stone Rain, Pillage, and Avalanche Riders. For the late game Le Pine used Cursed Scroll and Hammer of Bogardan to finish off his mana-crippled opponent.
