Description
This 2002 release from the Pokémon Expedition Base Set features Alakazam, card number 33, rendered in a striking Reverse Holo finish. Designed by Hajime Kusajima, this Rare card represents the final evolution of Kadabra, bringing a powerful presence to the Psychic type category with 100 HP. For enthusiasts of the Pokémon trading card game, this card offers both nostalgic value and strategic depth. Alakazam serves as a Stage 2 Pokémon, requiring players to evolve their Kadabra before utilizing its potent abilities. Its signature ability, Psymimic, allows a player to copy an opponent's Pokémon attack once per turn, adding a layer of psychological strategy to matches. Additionally, the Syncroblast attack deals 80 damage, with potential adjustments based on Energy card distribution, making it a versatile tool in competitive play. Collectors often seek this variation due to its distinctive reverse holographic treatment, which contrasts with the standard foil rarity of the era. The Expedition Base Set holds a special place in TCG history, and owning card #33 provides a complete picture of this iconic expansion. Whether you are building a comprehensive set or focusing on high-stage evolutions, this Alakazam card is a compelling addition to your portfolio. The combination of its strategic gameplay mechanics, recognizable character design, and the premium Reverse Holo finish makes this card a standout piece for dedicated collectors. It reflects the creative evolution of the Pokémon TCG in the early 2000s, appealing to both long-time fans and new investors in the hobby. As part of the growing interest in vintage TCG cards, this piece remains a significant item for those who appreciate the artistry and mechanics of classic Pokémon cards.

Card Text
Abilities, attacks, oracle text, and flavor text printed on the card.
Ability: Psymimic
Once during your turn, instead of Alakazam's normal attack, you may choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon's attacks. Alakazam copies that attack including its Energy costs and anything else required in order to use that attack, such as discarding Energy cards. (No matter what type that Pokémon is, Alakazam's type is still Psychic.) This power can't be used if Alakazam is affected by a Special Condition.
Attack: Syncroblast (80)
If Alakazam and the Defending Pokémon don't have the same number of Energy cards attached to them, this attack's base damage is 20 instead of 80.
