Description
The 2001 Pokémon Neo Revelation Shuckle card (#51) is a Common Fighting-type Basic Pokémon featuring the Hard Shell ability and Toxic Saliva attack. This card is a staple for collectors completing the Neo Revelation set, offering a unique gameplay mechanic that rewards strategic defense. Shuckle, known for storing berries inside its shell, hides beneath rocks to remain still and avoid attacks, a trait reflected in its in-game abilities. The Hard Shell ability reduces damage from attacks doing 40 or less to just 10, making it a resilient choice in early-game strategies. Its Toxic Saliva attack flips a coin to poison the defending Pokémon, dealing 20 damage per turn if successful. Collected by fans of the original Generation II era, this card represents a distinct period in Pokémon TCG history when unique abilities and thematic designs were prominent. Shuckle's Fighting type and low retreat cost of 1 further define its role in the meta of that time. Collectors often seek out this card for its nostalgic value and its place in the foundational Neo series. As a Common card, it serves as an accessible entry point for new collectors while remaining a cherished piece for veteran enthusiasts. Shuckle's ability to mitigate damage makes it a memorable part of the Neo era, reflecting the creative approach to Pokémon abilities during this time. Collectors value this card not just for its gameplay utility but also for its representation of the 2001 Pokémon TCG landscape. The card's enduring appeal lies in its unique mechanics and the nostalgia it evokes for fans of the original series. Shuckle's story of hiding and storing berries adds a layer of charm that resonates with collectors who appreciate the lore behind the Pokémon. This card is a testament to the creativity and depth of the Neo Revelation set, making it a valuable addition to any collection.

Ability: Hard Shell
Whenever an attack (including your own) does 40 or less damage to Shuckle (after applying Weakness and Resistance), reduce that damage to 10. (Any other effects of attacks still happen.) This power stops working while Shuckle is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
Attack: Toxic Saliva
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. It now takes 20 Poison damage instead of 10 after each player's turn (even if it was already Poisoned).
It stores berries inside its shell. To avoid attacks, it hides beneath rocks and remains completely still.
