Description
This Stage 1 Fighting type card, which evolves from Slugma, carries 80 HP and features artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita. Magcargo brings a unique tactical element to the game with its ability, Streaming Mantle. When played from the hand to evolve an Active Pokémon, this ability allows the player to discard the top three cards of their deck and then shuffle three basic Energy cards back into the deck. This mechanic offers strategic flexibility during gameplay, helping players manage their deck resources more effectively. The card's primary attack, Crushing Lava, requires the discard of a Fire or Fighting basic Energy card attached to Magcargo. This attack deals 40 damage, and if a Fire Energy card is discarded in this way, it additionally burns the Defending Pokémon. The card has a retreat cost of 3, reflecting its heavy, rocky nature. For collectors, the Skyridge set remains a significant part of Pokémon TCG history. The Holo Rare treatment on Magcargo H17 adds a layer of visual appeal that distinguishes it from common and uncommon variants. Whether you are building a comprehensive set of Skyridge cards or focusing on specific Pokémon types, this card represents a key piece of the 2003 release. The combination of its strategic abilities and classic holo finish makes it a desirable item for enthusiasts of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
