Description
The Dance of the Dead card from the 2008 Magic: The Gathering Masters Edition II set stands out as a powerful tool for players who favor graveyard-centric strategies. As an Uncommon Aura enchantment, this card (number 83) provides a unique mechanic that allows players to reclaim creatures from the discard pile and return them to the battlefield. This functionality is highly valued in the Magic: The Gathering community for its ability to extend gameplay and create complex board states. Designed by Randy Gallegos, the card features a mana cost of {1}{B} and targets a creature card in a graveyard. When played, it not only returns the creature but also grants it a +1/+1 bonus, though the creature cannot untap during its controller's next turn unless an additional mana cost is paid. This creates a strategic trade-off that adds depth to the game, making it a favorite among collectors who appreciate both the artistic and mechanical aspects of Magic cards. The Dance of the Dead card represents a key piece of this collection, offering a glimpse into the game's evolving mechanics. Whether you are building a thematic deck or adding to a comprehensive collection, this card offers both historical significance and ongoing gameplay utility. Its enduring popularity in the Magic: The Gathering community ensures that it remains a sought-after item for enthusiasts and investors alike. Collecting cards from this era allows enthusiasts to trace the evolution of game design and appreciate the craftsmanship behind each print. The Masters Edition II release continues to be a cornerstone for those interested in the strategic depth of Magic: The Gathering. By focusing on the card's mechanical impact and its place within the broader context of the game, collectors can better understand its value and appeal. This approach ensures that each card is appreciated not just for its rarity, but for its contribution to the rich tapestry of Magic: The Gathering history.

Card Text

Enchant creature card in a graveyard When this Aura enters, if it's on the battlefield, it loses "enchant creature card in a graveyard" and gains "enchant creature put onto the battlefield with this Aura." Put enchanted creature card onto the battlefield tapped under your control and attach this Aura to it. When this Aura leaves the battlefield, that creature's controller sacrifices it. Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and doesn't untap during its controller's untap step. At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature's controller, that player may pay {1}{B}. If the player does, untap that creature.
