Description
Kecleon from the 2007 Secret Wonders expansion stands as a distinctive entry in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Assigned card number 52, this Uncommon Basic Pokémon is categorized as Colorless and carries 70 Hit Points. Designed by Mitsuhiro Arita, the card captures the creature's unique biological traits through its mechanical presentation. The card’s primary strategic value lies in its ability, Camouflage. This effect allows Kecleon to reduce incoming damage based on the energy types attached to it, providing a defensive utility that requires careful management by the player. This mechanic reflects the Pokémon's canonical ability to change its body color, offering a tactical layer to gameplay that goes beyond simple attack damage. When Kecleon uses its attack, Blind Scratch, players face a risk-reward scenario. The attack deals 60 damage but requires a coin flip. A tails result redirects 20 damage to one of the player's own Pokémon, adding a layer of unpredictability to matches. This design encourages players to consider the potential downsides of aggressive plays. Kecleon #52 remains a notable card for those building decks that utilize Colorless energy strategies or those interested in the mechanics of early 2000s TCG design. Its straightforward yet impactful abilities make it a staple for enthusiasts looking to understand the depth of Pokémon card interactions. Whether you are completing a set or seeking specific cards for your collection, finding accurate and detailed information is essential for informed collecting.

Ability: Camouflage
If any basic Energy card attached to Kecleon is the same as the Attacking Pokémon's type, any damage done by attacks from the Pokémon to Kecleon is reduced by 40 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).
Attack: Blind Scratch (60)
Flip a coin. If tails, this attack does no damage to the Defending Pokémon. Instead, this attack does 20 damage to 1 of your Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)
It can freely change its body's color. The zigzag pattern on its belly doesn't change, however.
