Description
Sharpedo is a formidable presence in the Pokémon trading card game, serving as the evolved form of Carvanha in the Secret Wonders set released in 2007. As card number 37, this Stage 1 Darkness-type Pokémon brings both strategic depth and nostalgic value to any collection. Designed by Ken Sugimori, the card captures the essence of this aquatic predator, known for its speed and aggressive nature. The card features the Rough Skin ability, which provides a unique defensive mechanic: if Sharpedo is your Active Pokémon and takes damage from an opponent's attack, the attacker receives two damage counters. This ability makes Sharpedo a disruptive force in battle, punishing opponents for striking it directly. Its attack, Strike Wound, offers significant damage potential, dealing 60 damage plus an additional 20 if the defending Pokémon has two or more damage counters already placed on it. Collectors often seek out Secret Wonders cards for their distinct art style and the set's place in Pokémon TCG history. Sharpedo's design reflects its lore as "The Bully of the Sea," swimming at high speeds and ripping through obstacles with its powerful fangs. The card's rarity as a Rare in the Secret Wonders expansion adds to its appeal for those building complete sets or focusing on Darkness-type Pokémon. For investors and hobbyists, Pokémon cards from the mid-2000s like this Sharpedo release represent a tangible piece of gaming history. Whether you are completing a set, focusing on specific Pokémon lines, or simply appreciate the art and strategy of the TCG, this card offers a compelling addition to your portfolio.
